this is how i understand ,shakur means gratitude,so whatever God give you may be sometime nothing .you will be happy at that point and don't have complains this lead to contentment and contentment lead to thankfulness and generally we thank with heart when we are happy so that means we are happy with god in all conditions whatever may be happy moments or vice versa.in such state when we pray that is real prayer.
